A trip to Molonglo might have you lucky enough to meet some genuine locals — we regularly see wombats, blue-tongue and shingle back lizards, kangaroos, brown and tiger snakes and echidnas.

Birdlife includes kestrels, crows, magpies, galahs, eastern rosellas, rosellas, cockatoos, red rump parrots and (not too often) black cockatoos.
