SAO E-zine: November 2007

Welcome to the the third edition of the SAO e-zine! The aim of our e-zine is to keep the SAO community -- alumni, current students, instructors, and future members of the SAO family -- up to date with the latest SAO news. In this edition we'll be featuring AstroFest2007, SAO's inaugural astronomy festival which was held in Texas, USA, in October. In our "Meet the Instructor" section, we introduce Dr Jarrod Hurley, who recently joined the Swinburne Centre for Astrophysics & Supercomputing and is the new HET617 Computational Astrophysics instructor. Our "SAO Research Highlights" features Dr Chris Flynn's work on indirect measurement of the "colours" of the Sun. We also have some news about changes to SAO in 2008.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the SAO e-zine.

Cheers,
Sarah and Glen.
