SAO Graduation Ceremonys, December 2007 and March 2008
SAO Graduations are held in March and October of each year. However on Wednesday 19 December, 2007, at a special international student graduation ceremony, Eduardo Manuel Alvarez graduated as Master of Science (Astronomy). On Thursday 6 March, 2008 SAO proudly graduated another 3 Graduate Certificate of Science students, 6 Graduate Diploma of Science students, and 10 Master of Science students. Eight graduates came to Melbourne to attend the graduation ceremony (Graeme Knight, Lawrence Toomey, Julian Foster, Sheridan Lacey, Marion Martin, Richard Fell-Marston, Michael McDowell, Albert White), and visited the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing prior to the ceremony for a tour of the Centre. They visited the supercomputer and took a 3D flight through the Universe in our Virtual Reality theatre. After the ceremony we enjoyed a celebratory dinner at a Himalayan restaurant.
