Molonglo

A large amount of work has been made in developing a digital back-end for the Molonglo Radio Telescope. My efforts have largely centred around the aspects of the instrumentation that occur once voltages from the 352 antenna have been received and divided into coarse channels by a PFB running on CABB hardware.

The digital backend is compromised of server class machines equipped 10Gbe NICs for data acquisition, 56 GbE IB NICS for cornerturns and Nvidia Kepler GPUs for data processing.

The following modes of operation have been developed and or comissioned:

  • Module folding mode
  • Correlator
  • Tied Array Beam
  • Tiled “Flys Eye” Beam
