DG Tau B

This image of DG Tau B reveals a 540 AU horizontal dust lane, indicating the presence of a large dust disk around the young star. The star itself is seen as the bright red spot at the corner of the V-shaped nebula.

Image taken with the HST's NICMOS camera, in the constellation of Taurus, 140 pc away. Most of the nebulae represent small dust particles around the stars, which are seen because they are reflecting starlight. In the colour-coding, regions of greatest dust concentration appear red.
