Prof. Glenn Kacprzak

Astrophysicist exploring galaxies, the circumgalactic medium and the cosmic evolution of gas and stars.

About Me

I am a Professor of Astrophysics in the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. My research focuses on understanding the formation and evolution of galaxies by studying the flows of gas in and around them. In particular, I investigate the circumgalactic medium (CGM) and how inflows, outflows and feedback processes shape galaxies over cosmic time.

Through observational surveys and modelling, I lead and contribute to projects that explore the multi-phase CGM, strong gravitational lensing and the 3D structure of galaxies, with a major focus on Keck-, HST- and JWST-based programmes. I supervise PhD and honours students and collaborate widely internationally

If you are interested in PhD or honours projects related to the circumgalactic medium, gravitational lensing or galaxy evolution, please get in touch.
