Galaxy Groups

Below are some true colour images of nearby galaxy groups. Images in the B, R and I filters were taken using the WFI instrument on the Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) and combined using IRAF tasks.

The images are named below according to the largest galaxy in the field, or on images with several large galaxies, by the galaxy nearest the center of the image.

These images are all at the full resolution of the WFI which is ~2k x 4k pixels. For some smaller images see the list of cropped files at the bottom of the page.
