Dr. Marianne Girard

The focus of my work is to understand the formation and evolution of galaxies by studying their kinematics. I use integral field unit (IFU) observations in the infrared and optical as well as radio/submillimeter observations to probe the ionised and molecular gas at redshift between 0.5 and 3.5. I also work with lensed galaxies to get better spatial resolution and detect fainter objects and with low-redshift turbulent, clumpy disk galaxies considered analogues to high-redshift galaxies (the DYNAMO sample).
