Dr. Daniel.C Price

I am a radio astronomer who specializes in instrumentation; that is, I build radio telescopes. My science interests are 21-cm cosmology (seeing how the first galaxies and stars formed by measuring hydrogen emission), the transient universe (pulsars and fast radio bursts), and the search for life outside the solar system. I am currently the project scientist for the Breakthrough Listen search for intelligent life at the Parkes telescope (, and am also working on upgrading the Molonglo telescope's digital systems for the UTMOST project ( My technical interests are high-performance signal processing on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and graphics processing units (GPUs).
