Outreach and teaching

It is more than a responsibility to tell people about our ideas and research, its a great joy. From public lectures and talks to astronomy societies to teaching primary school children, its as important as getting that next grant.

Most recently I spent National Science Week in Bendigo, taking the Swinburne portable Virtual Reality Theatre into schools. Over the course of the week, myself and Dr Lisa Germany taught astronomy to more than 600 students, as well as to teachers and the general public. We gave a mix of astrotours, astronomy lectures, and background classes, morning and night for the five days of science week.
