The environments of galaxies play an important role in their evolution and correlate with varying strengths to galaxy features such as colour, morphology, star formation rate, etc. "Environment", though, is not uniquely defined, and different metrics result in different strengths of correlation. The scale on which the environment is measured also plays a factor in how over or under-dense a region might be.

I use semi-analytical models of galaxy formation to focus on the quantification of environment metrics, their evolution in time, and how they can be used to better understand the physics of galaxies.
