Dr. Daniel.C Price

I am a radio astronomer who specializes in instrumentation; that is, I build radio telescopes. My science interests are 21-cm cosmology (seeing how the first galaxies and stars formed by measuring hydrogen emission), the transient universe (pulsars and fast radio bursts), and the search for life outside the solar system. I am currently the project scientist for the Breakthrough Listen search for intelligent life at the Parkes telescope (http://seti.berkeley.edu), and am also working on upgrading the Molonglo telescope's digital systems for the UTMOST project (http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/research/utmost/). My technical interests are high-performance signal processing on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and graphics processing units (GPUs).
