The structure of galaxies gives us important clues on how they formed and evolved. Traditionally spectroscopic studies have been limited to the bright central regions of galaxies. However different galaxy formation theories make different predictions about the outer regions of galaxies. By using a technique developed at Swinburne which utilises multi object spectography, the metallicities and the kinematics of both galaxies and of their globular cluster systems can be efficiently observed at the same time.
