Dr. Chris Flynn
I am helping coordinate the roll-out of the Swinburne upgrade at Molonglo Observatory to use the telescope to do pulsar timing on a daily basis and search for Fast Radio Bursts (millisecond timescale radio emission potentially of cosmological origin). Other interests include : Solar twins (with student Juliet Datson/University of Turku), the halos of nearby elliptical galaxies (with student Sarah Bird/University of Turku), the dissolution of star clusters into the Galactic disk (with student Guido Moyana Loyola/Swinburne) and modeling FRB source populations (with student Manisha Caleb/ANU). I also look at Earthshine on the side.
