Professor Chris Blake

My research focusses on testing the cosmological model using observations, theory, simulations and statistics. I am an expert in using the large-scale structure of the Universe, measured by galaxy redshift surveys, to probe the cosmic expansion and growth history which can tell us about the physics of dark energy. I also work on galaxy peculiar velocities and gravitational lensing. I teach a series of undergraduate physics units at Swinburne, am interested in developing active-learning approaches in the classroom, and am currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching. I support initiatives which can improve academic culture and equity outcomes.
