I work on measuring and understanding the dynamics of galaxies at both low and high redshift, which will provide insight into galaxy formation and evolution models, and may also be important to understanding the dark matter in the universe. Although I'm currently working with optical and near infrared spectra from integral field or 3D spectrographs, I've also done research in the radio spectrum. Other astronomy interests include weak lensing and cosmology. With collaborators at Caltech and Waterloo, I've built a mass selected cluster catalogue with weak lensing. As telescopes and image correction improve, this technique allows for 3D reconstructions of the mass distribution in a field. I also have a strong desire to bring astronomy back to the public through lectures and teaching.
