SKA Simulation Working Group

An SKA Simulation Working Group (SSWG) was set up to co-ordinate world-wide efforts in SKA simulations. The SSWG will work alongside the International Science Advisory Committee (ISAC), the Engineering Management Team (EMT), and the Site Evaluation and Selection Committee (SESC). These working groups and committees report directly to the International SKA Steering Committee (ISSC).

The SSWG is chaired by Dr Steven Tingay at the Swinburne University of Technology and aims to provide a framework for the coordination of resources, results, and information from SKA simulation groups around the world.

The Swinburne Centre for Astrophyiscs and Supercomputing operates a supercomputer which is a network of machines providing Terra-flop processing power. The Swinburne SKA group has access to 30% of the machine and has made some of this time available to anyone in the SKA community for SSWG work or other SKA-related computing applications.
