From: Steven Tingay Subject: SSWG call for abstracts etc Date: Wed, 30 Apr 2003 11:29:47 +1000 (EST) Dear SSWG members, There has already been some discussion of the draft document describing the SSWG aims and activities. There are also some efforts currently being made to organise SKA simulation studies along national and regional lines in Australia and in Europe. Finally, some ideas for possible talks in the SSWG workshop at Geraldton are already being sent to me. So, at this point I'd like to invite you all to submit abstracts for the SSWG workshop in Geraldton. We have half a day for the workshop programme on Thursday July 31. Please let me know if you would like to give an oral presentation, poster presentation, or both. Oral presentations will probably each have a duration of 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the topic. I hope to be able to schedule presentations on a broad range of simulation issues while focusing on the most important topics facing the SSWG, also allowing plenty of time for round-table discussions. After I've collected abstracts I'll produce a preliminary programme and distribute it to the SSWG for comments. Finally, at Swinburne we have started a web page to pull together different SSWG documents and communications. We will archive all email communications of the SSWG here (please note that we will remove all email addresses from the communications before they are archived on the web page). Please see the following URL and follow the SKA SWG link on the side frame: http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/ska/ Best Wishes, Steven
