Netscape 7.1 Problem
I keep getting asked for my password for access to the newsgroups
The symptoms of this problem is every time you connect to the newsserver or a
newgroup, you are prompted to enter you username and password. This can
definitely become an inconvenience after a while.
This behaviour is controlled by the password settings in Netscape. If you want
to avoid this, then follow this process:
1.
Start Netscape.
2.
From the Edit menu, choose Prefernces.
3.
The preferences window will appear. In the Privacy & Security
section, select Passwords.
4.
Ensure that the Remember Passwords box is checked.
5.
Now you will only be prompted the next time you connect to the newsgroup.
Enter your password and check the Use Password Manager to remember
this value. You will only have to do this once for each newsgroup
you have subscribed to.
