Astronomy Specialisation Units
As part of the astronomy specialisation of Northeastern MEd degree, students will enrol in the Graduate Certificate of Science (Astronomy) at Swinburne Univeristy. The Graduate Certificate is awarded after the successful completion of 4 units. As part of the joint MEd/GradCert degree, Northeastern students must complete three core astronomy units:
- HET602 - Exploring the Solar System
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: none)
- HET603 - Exploring Stars and the Milky Way
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: none)
- HET624 - Galaxies and Their Place in the Universe
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: none)
and choose one of the following astronomy electives:
- HET610 - Studies in Space Exploration
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: HET602)
- HET616 - Great Debates in Astronomy
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: HET624)
- HET618 - Astrobiology and the Origins of Life
(Unit outline -- prerequisites: HET602 & HET603)
Note that not all units run in both semesters.
