SAO E-zine: May 2007

Welcome to the the second edition of the SAO e-zine! The aim of our e-zine is to keep the SAO community -- alumin, current students, instructors, and future members of the SAO family -- up to date with the latest SAO news. In this edition we'll be featuring AstroFest, SAO's inaugural astronomy festival which will be held in Texas, USA, in October this year. In our "Meet the Instructor" section, we introduce one of our newest SAO instructors, Prof Warrick Couch, who recently joined the Swinburne Centre for Astrophysics & Supercomputing and will be teaching into SAO for the first time in Semester 2, 2007. Our "SAO Research Highlights" features some new work on constraining galaxy formation and evolution models in elliptical galaxies by one of our project supervisors (and Swinburne PhD students), Max Spolaor.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the SAO e-zine and we look forward to meeting quite a few of you in Texas!

Cheers,
Sarah and Glen.
