AstroFest 2008 - Program
AstroFest will include a series of astronomy lectures, hands-on demonstrations and night observing, as well as a chance for SAO alumni and students to present their own research results. The first two days of the meeting will be held at the Yarra Valley Conference Centre (YVCC) and the third day will be held at Swinburne University. Thanks to the generous support of the Three Rivers Foundation, there will be observing sessions on Friday and Saturday night at the YVCC. Speakers include:-

Sam Moorfield (Swinburne/Spaceworks) "3D modelling and movies"
Dr. Kurt Liffman (CSIRO/MIT) "Bipolar Jet Flows and the Formation of the Solar System"
Program outline:
- Friday 17 October - reception & registration at the YVCC (from 5pm) & observing
- Saturday 18 October - AstroFest @ YVCC (all day) & observing session in the evening
- Sunday 19 October - AstroFest @ YVCC (all day)
- Monday 20 October - AstroFest @ Swinburne, Melbourne, and conference dinner (all day)
