AstroFest 2008 - Accommodation

The registration fee covers your accommodation at the Yarra Valley Conference Centre on Friday 17 and Saturday 18. The YVCC is a retreat style, purpose built venue nestled in the foot hills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by vineyards. All guest rooms have en-suites and high-speed broadband internet connection, and each accommodation wing has a common lounge/conference area with a fully equipped kitchen (but note that all meals are provided while on-site!). The YVCC includes a range of recreational activities including a solar heated swimming pool, spa and sauna, synthetic grass tennis court, golf net, jogging trails, volleyball, and bush walks and night time forest walks by appointment. There is also an open fireplace, a bar and lounge area, a pool table and table tennis. For more information, see the YVCC website. Should participants wish to stay at the YVCC with B&B facilities either before or after AstroFest, this can be arranged at a cost of AU$110 per night for single accommodation and AU$90 per night for shared accommodation. On Sunday 19 October, it is expected that most partipants will return to Melbourne and require accommodation for Sunday 19 and Monday 20 October. A range of hotels are available in Hawthorn and Richmond (near the Swinburne University campus) and we suggest the following:
