We recommend you install the lost on campus app for navigating around campus and the PTV mobile app for managing public transport travel in Melbourne.

Transportation to/from the airport

Melbourne Airport is located north of Melbourne's central business district. The Skybus provides service between the airport and Southern Cross train station in the city centre. It operates 24 hours a day at regular 10 minute intervals and costs $36 for a roundtrip ticket.

From Southern Cross station, you can catch either the Cranbourne or Pakenham train lines out of the city, making a bus connection at Huntingdale station to Monash's Clayton campus. Public Transport Victoria is Melbourne's public transportation website, and its Journey Planner will suggest the fastest route.

Taxi ranks are also present outside Southern Cross station, and will cost $40-50 to travel to Clayton. A taxi directly from the airport to Monash will cost $65-80.

Parking:

  • Free parking is only available off-campus at 264 Ferntree Gully Road. Free park and ride buses will take you to and from campus.
  • The Off-campus One (OC1) car park at Wellington/Blackburn Road now offers metered parking at a discount rate. Blue permit parking at the OC1 is no longer available. Parking meters accept coins and credit cards, or you can pay using the paybyphone app. The OC1 metered parking rates are $1 per hour or $5 per day. Free park and ride buses will take you to and from campus.
  • Full priced metered parking ($10 for full day) is available in the N1 carpark, close to the conference venue. See the parking and access map for details
