Wave Period

The period of a wave is the time taken for one complete cycle of the wave to pass a reference point. Equivalently, it is the time between successive maxima or minima of the wave.

Period of a wave

The period P of a wave is related to its frequency f by the equation:

$ P = {1 \over f} = f^{-1} $
