Local Information
The Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing is located in the AR Building (Arts Building) at the Hawthorn Campus of Swinburne University of Technology. The Cente is a research centre of the Faculty of ICT. Both meetings will be held in the VR Theatre on the ground floor of the AR Building next to the Haddons coffee shop. Entry to the theatre is from the outside.

Getting to Swinburne
The Hawthorn Campus of Swinburne University is located about 10km east of the Melbourne City Centre. The University is well serviced by public transport with Trains, trams and busses:
| Taxi | Ask your driver to take you to the: Hawthorn Campus of Swinburne University of Technology Burwood Rd Between Glenferrie Rd and William St Make your way through to the centre of the campus, there are campus maps in prominent locations, and locate the AR Building. |

| Train | From the city, take one of the Belgrave, Lilydale or Alamein Lines making sure it stops at Glenferrie Station (during peak times some trains don’t stop at Glenferrie Station). As you walk through the ticket barriers, turn right towards the council car park. Follow Swinburne Walk, the narrow path that leads along the railway line, until you reach the gate between the red brick AR and AD buildings. Walk betweenthese buildings, and veer to the right to find the AR Building. Walking from the station to campus will only take a couple of minutes.

Finding the Centre
The Centre is located on levels 2 and 3 of the AR Building (Arts Building). The AR building is centrally located in the Hawthorn Campus. If the building is difficult to find, ask a passing student to direct your to “Haddons”, a coffee shop, that is located in the ground floor of the AR building. Both meetings will be held in the VR Theatre on the ground floor next to Haddons. Enter from the outside.
If you have any problems please enter the AR building, make your way up the first flight of stairs, through the double doors to find the Centre Administrator, Elizabeth Thackray, who will be able to help.

Should you be requiring local accommodation while in Melbourne, we suggest the following:
- Glenferrie Hotel – very close to Swinburne (1 min walk!)
- Amora Hotel Riverwalk – nice hotel in Richmond on the Yarra River, just a 15 minute tram ride from Swinburne.
- Richmond Hill Hotel – cheaper option in Richmond. Great location close to train and trams, about 15 minutes from Swinburne.
