Projects: IAU-related statistics

At the IAU 26th General Assembly in 2006, the Working Group requested that:

  1. The collection of gender statistics be implemented for IAU sponsored Assemblies and Symposia. Specifically, the organizers should report the numbers and percentages of women participants, speakers, invited speakers and session chairs. The distribution of financial resources (travel grants, housing, and registration fees) between men and women should also be reported.
  2. Access to child care at IAU-sponsored meetings to be mandatory, unless specifically not required by the participants. Funding would normally be shared between the IAU, the Meeting LOC, and the participants using this service. A summary report of the use, cost, and experience of providing child care to be submitted by the Meeting Chair to the WG.
